Christian Fellowship is a club on the MVCC campus which focuses on life applications of the Bible: its values, beliefs, and teachings of Jesus Christ and His message of discipleship. We encourage friendship and fellowship among all ethnicities and backgrounds. Typically, we have a small Bible study time and then discuss important relevant topics, promotion of the club, club activities, and relay information from Student Life.
On Tuesday, November 5, the club hosted an event in the U Building open to the entire college. It was called Kute Kards for Kids. Students, staff, and faculty were invited to write a small message of hope and inspiration on cards for children who are spending the Thanksgiving holiday in the hospital. They could decorate the cards with drawings, stickers, ribbon, glitter, etc. Approximately 98% of those asked to participate responded with a warm heart and enthusiasm. They did an amazing job writing beautiful words of hope and strength. The cards will be distributed to children of Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois before Thanksgiving. A representative of the hospital once said that parents look forward to any cards for their children, and receive such joy that others are thinking of them and their children during the holidays.
The showcase was a great success and proved to be popular with students. Our club was greatly encouraged and we will definitely present this type of event again, possibly for more than one day, as some students had class conflicts. We thank all participants who wrote and decorated these cards. Moraine Valley students are the best!
