Here are some unique ideas to consider doing whether you are a couple, or just a group of guys and gals getting out and having fun.
Take in a romantic flick: “The Photograph” is showing at Marcus Theater, 16350 S. LaGrange Road or visit Hollywood Palms at 352 South Route 59 in Naperville, which is showing “When Harry Met Sally.”
Solve a mystery, unraveling clues at Escapology Escape Room, 8601 W. 159th in Orland Park. $29.00 per person; book online.
Try ice skating at Artic Ice Arena, 10700 160th in Orland Park, Friday and Saturday evenings 7:30-9:00 p.m. Skate Rental is offered along with personal lockers if needed.
Cosmic Bowling at Thunderbowl is a fun one: 18700 Old LaGrange Road in Mokena. Friday, $5; Cosmic Games 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Or enjoy a lively show at Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar, 5540 Park Place, Rosemont. Doors open at 7 p.m.; show is 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. 
Haunted houses are not just for Halloween. Valentine’s Day in Wonderland (A Haunted House Attraction) at Basement of the Dead is at 40 W. New York St., Aurora. Book ahead online and pay only $19.99 per person; $30 at gate.
Take in a Wolves hockey game on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 6920 Mannheim Rd, Rosemont. Tickets start as low as $14.
Have some lovelorn aggression? AxeZone ax throwing at 1592 W. Ogden Avenue, Naperville, is open ‘til midnight. It’s $21.95 for one hour, $32.95 for 90 min, or $43.95 for two hours.    Bad Axe at 1022 N. Farnsworth Ave. in Aurora is $23.98 for one hour. Point Blank Shooting Range at 18810 88th Ave. in Mokena offers gun rental (must have a FOID or come as a guest of someone who does). Ear plugs, glasses, targets and ammo are available for purchase if needed.

The Chicago Auto Show is taking place at McCormick Place, 2301 S. King Drive, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets $13; have extra cash for parking.
See “An American in Paris” at Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. Tickets start at around $107.
Go for a winter hike at Starved Rock, 2688 E. 873rd Road in Oglesby.
For more winter fun, try tubing at Villa Olivia at 1401 W. Lake St., Bartlett (two-hour increments), $24 per person, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., or $20 per person, 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. 
For people over 21, Coopers Hawk offers wine tasting at 15690 S. Harlem Ave. in Orland Park, $7 per person.
