The Glacier and the Moraine Valley Library sponsored the first MV Poetry Contest & Virtual Coffeehouse on Thursday, April 15. This entry by Marissa Perales is about “enjoying a metaphorical pie that is baked from a discreet homophobic individual who shows hate through modesty. This poem is intended to relate to the LGBTQ+ who have struggled through implicit homophobia in their daily lives,” she says.
