After a year of successful athletic accomplishments, the Moraine Valley athletic department has been awarded the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference All-Sports Award.

This title is awarded to a college that has shown persistency through receiving the highest number of conference awards throughout the season. Moraine Valley Cyclones came out on top and proved their dedication after taking home three Skyway titles this year.

Men’s cross country, women’s cross country and softball all took first place in the conference.

An additional boost in Moraine Valley’s award points came as a result of men’s basketball, golf, and men’s tennis, which all finished second place in the conference.

Cyclones cross country coach Dimitri Dimizas attributes the major success of the season to team chemistry and dedication.

“[It was] a combination of unity and hard work,” Dimizas said. “They all had goals of competing, winning, and making it to nationals. Putting in the work, day after day led them to accomplish what they were striving for as a team.”
