Moraine musicians, take note of Moraine’s upcoming Battle of the Bands.
The music club Tritones is looking for you to tune in, get those instruments out and get ready to rock the competition on April 21.
Cash prizes will be awarded, sponsored by Tritones and Student Life. The third place band will win $100, second place $175, and the grand prize winner will receive $250.
Bands must arrive by 6 p.m. the day of the battle. At 6:30 p.m., there will be a drawing to help decide the night’s lineup. Each band is allowed 30 minutes for their performance, with 15 minutes set aside for setup and breakdown.
Judges will be looking for technical ability and instrumental skills, creativity and originality, stage presence and audience response, and overall musicianship.
One member of the band needs to be enrolled at Moraine Valley and be in good standing with the college.
If you and your band are ready to rock, you will need to fill out this form and pay the non-refundable $25 entry fee no later than March 24. The money should be taken to room F130.
