Every year Moraine Valley puts on a Fall Fest for new and returning students. This year it is on Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. It’s a great opportunity to see a bunch of clubs to get involved in and campus departments that offer support and services to students. It’s also a chance to meet and engage with new people who might share the same interests as you, and make connections with excellent resources! The Fest will held on the Gateway (the grassy area between the FPAC and G buildings) or in the gym in the G building if there is inclement weather.
“Studies show that students who are involved on campus and make connections with faculty and staff members, are more likely to persist and graduate,” stated Kent Marshall, Dean of Students. “Fall Fest facilitates these connections to valuable resources and helps students feel a sense of belonging. We hope that students will come out to enjoy the festivities and set themselves up for success.”
There will be free food, a Dj to provide music, as well as many games and activities: oversized board games and interactive inflatables. These will include a Climbing Wall, Mechanical Bull, Grinder and Warped Wall, and a Two-Lane Bungee Run. Fall Fest has something for everyone to enjoy and tryout! We hope to see you out there enjoying all the amenities Moraine has to offer.
“Fall Fest is one of Students Life’s biggest events of the year, and one of my own personal favorites. During this time, students, faculty, and staff get together to truly quick off the new academic year, and you can feel and see the excitement,” commented Laura Vazquez, Secretary in Student Life. “While academics and studies are of [the] utmost importance, we also place equal value on the student experience, and we hope that you get to enjoy free food, games, prizes, and more all at Fall Festival!”
