Student Trustee: Clubs serve others for the holidays

Hello fellow students, 

I pray everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I want to take a moment and thank all the Moraine Valley students, clubs, organizations, faculty, and staff for their efforts to contribute to others for the holiday season. I was able to join the Phi Theta Kappa club and make Thanksgiving cards for children in hospitals. The Next Generation Business Leaders are hosting a toy drive for the children at Lurie Children’s hospital and have worked tirelessly to decorate boxes which will be used to collect the toys. 

As we approach finals week and the Christmas break, I want to take a moment and to say, “Thank you.” Thank you, students, for electing me to this position, President Haney for being an exceptional President and showing me so much grace, and the Board of Trustees for welcoming me as one of their own. With just a few more months of serving as your Student Trustee, I want to encourage anyone interested in running to come and join us for a Board meeting. Some of the requirements to be eligible as a candidate for Student Trustee include maintaining a 2.5 GPA, being enrolled in at least 6 credit hours, being a resident of Moraine Valley’s district, and attending at least two board meetings prior to April 15, 2025. The dates of the remaining board meetings are 12/17/24, 2/18/2025, and 3/18/2025 at 6pm. Please reach out to Kent Marshall at marshallk34@morainevalley.edu to confirm the location.
