Hello, Moraine Valley students!
My name is Dalayna Stevenson, and I am honored to serve as your new Student Trustee. I am a full-time paramedic and a nursing student who understands the challenges of balancing school, work, and family responsibilities.
As Student Trustee, I am committed to representing the student body. I plan on advocating for student success, and helping connect students with the resources they need to achieve their goals.
I look forward to serving and supporting the Moraine Valley community.

Editor’s Note: Michelle Segovia was elected in April as the Student Trustee. She was sworn in at the April Board meeting. Prior to the May Board meeting however, she resigned her position citing a need to care for her personal wellness.
When an elected Student Trustee is unable to complete their term in office, the vetting committee and Vice President who oversee the elections are able to appoint an eligible student to fulfill the role. Fortunately, there were three other candidates who ran this year for the position who had already fulfilled the basic requirements for eligibility. Dean of Students Kent Marshall reviewed the eligibility for each of the three at the end of the Spring Semester. Dalayna Stevenson was the next eligible candidate. She accepted the appointment to complete the term already started. Becuase the term will be nearly a year long, she will not be eligible to run for the position in the Spring of 2027. Stevenson was sworn in on the June 18 Board Meeting.
As we prepare for classes to resume, I would like to welcome all our students back to campus and extend a special welcome to our new students beginning their journey at Moraine Valley.
For students who are new to campus, many of the services you may need are conveniently located along S Street, the first-floor hallway in the S Building that connects to the Student Union, or U Building. Along S Street, students can find Admissions, Registration, the Cashier’s Office, Financial Aid, and the location to receive their Student ID. Additional student resources, including Counseling and the Job Resource Center, are located upstairs. To all our returning students, welcome back! I hope everyone has a successful semester, and I encourage students to take advantage of the many resources and services available to support them throughout the academic year.
