Be honest, who doesn’t enjoy some sweater weather? As the leaves shift and change colors, Moraine Valley does as well. As our campus continues to operate both virtually, and in person, Here are some reminders of October events.

As COVID protocols continue, our campus follows the Governor’s mask and vaccine mandates, in which we are to wear masks inside building and maintain a social distance of three feet apart.
Students, faculty and staff are required to either be fully vaccinated, or undergo weekly testing. To comply, Moraine is now using a new way of determining if you should be on campus or not! Cleared4Class rolled out early in September. Each morning, students, faculty and staff receive a text message to verify no change in symptoms or close contact with COVID. All students, faculty and staff need to complete the check-in prior to arriving on campus. For those who are not vaccinated, a negative COVID test must be completed 24 hours prior to arrival on campus.
Testing is available Monday through Friday in the M building. Cleared4Class sends an e-mail to your Moraine address as well as a text confirming your green pass, as long as you are not showing symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive. A green screen means you’re good to go! A purple screen is only for visitors cleared for entry. However, with a red screen is not allowed to be on campus; it’s important to stay home and away from others to keep everyone healthy and safe. Also, all students, faculty and staff have to be in compliance with Cleared4Class by October 6. Disciplinary action will begin for those who do not comply after that date. Those who previously uploaded their vaccine cards to Moraine will automatically see their vaccine status on the app as well.
Cleared4Class is verifying vaccine information in large batches. If you recently were vaccinated, it may not show up until you are two weeks out from your second shot for Pfizer or Moderna, or two weeks after your Johnson & Johnson one dose shot. Until you are two weeks past those inoculations, you will need to continue to test on a weekly basis. One is not considered fully vaccinated until that two-week period has expired as it takes 14 days for full immunity to develop.
Anyone experiencing difficult with the app can go to the Student ID desk just inside the Clock Tower entrance to S Building, the Admissions office in S101 across from the photo desk, or the Library located on the second floor of L Building.
