Hello, Moraine Valley students. For one last time, I’m writing to you as your Student Trustee.
As the semester comes to an end, I want to encourage everyone to stay strong through the final stretch. I know this time of year can feel overwhelming with exams, deadlines, work, and everything else life throws at us. Just remember that you’ve made it this far for a reason. Take it one step at a time, support each other, and don’t forget to take care of yourself along the way.
Garrett Weigel
Student Trustee, 2025-56

Serving as your Student Trustee has been an incredible experience, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to represent the student voice on the Board. One of the things I’m most proud of during my term is the progress made on the college’s Master Plan. Over the past year, the Board has worked with consultants to develop a long-term vision for campus that includes potential new buildings and facilities designed to better serve students in the future. While projects like this take time, it’s exciting to know that decisions being made now will help improve the college experience for future students.
More than anything, I’ve appreciated being able to listen to students and bring those perspectives into conversations at the Board level. Making sure student voices are heard is an important part of the role, and it’s something I’ve taken seriously throughout my term.
As my time as Student Trustee comes to an end next month, I just want to say thank you to everyone who supported me and shared their ideas and concerns. It has truly been an honor to represent you. I wish all of you the best as you finish the semester, and I hope you take pride in everything you’ve accomplished this year.
Finish strong, and good luck on finals!
