Press release from Student Life
Student Trustee Debate Scheduled
A Student Trustee Debate has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 27 from 1:00-2:00 in Building U, U-111. Come meet the candidates and learn more about why they believe they should be your Student Trustee.
Your two candidates are listed below with their letters of introduction. More information will be provided in The Glacier the week of April 1.
Stefanie DaCosta
My name is Stefanie DaCosta and I am someone you would want to get to know better. I am currently in the nursing program working towards earning an Associate in Applied Science Nursing degree. I enjoy connecting with new people, learning, and gaining new skill sets and having conversations that will lead to positive changes within our communities.
As your student trustee I plan to make improvements that will support you to thrive and accomplish the goals you are striving to achieve. My plan of action will include the Palos Hills, Blue Island, and Tinley Park campuses student body. I am open to suggestions for improvements within the college and will represent you to get our requests heard and fulfilled.
Nicholas Ipema
I’ve got first-hand experience, over 10 years, in management and business. I enjoy challenges, building teams, delegating tasks, and correcting issues that hinder growth.
As student trustee I want to ensure students have a voice and address lingering issues regarding attendance and completing their associates. I think it’s important for students to be heard and I want to be a liaison that bridges the gap between the student body and the governing body.
Vote for Your Student Trustee During the Week of April 1
Check your MV email to cast your vote for the Student Trustee! The Student Trustee represents the student body on the Moraine Valley Board of Trustees from April 2024 to April 2025. They attend board meetings to provide the student perspective and report back information from the administration to the students. The Student Trustee listens to student concerns and represents Moraine Valley at state-wide meetings. Voting will be open from Monday, April 1 through Friday, April 5 at 3:00 p.m.
